Time for the mos to go

To coin a phrase from commentary folklore, the West Cricket Club’s fundraising efforts can best be described as simply ‘mo-vellous’.
The club took part in the annual charity event ‘Movember’ last month to raise money and awareness about men’s health.
What started as a bit of fun and an excuse to grow some facial hair quickly snowballed.
The club received a flurry of support towards the end of the month and managed to raise a tick over $3,300.
Donations came in thick and fast at workplaces around town, while Peter Henry picked up a few hundred dollars in donations by rattling a tins one night at the Tydvil Hotel.
Henry said the response was overwhelming.
“It was our first time doing it as a club... We didn’t expect to raise this much at all,” he said.
While most players are expected to be clean shaven at tomorrow’s fixture against South, Henry has decided to keep his mo for a little longer.
“I’ve trimmed the handlebars but the top lip is still there.”
Henry said the club would be keen to get involved again next year.
