St Vincent de Paul will make Christmas a little more special for the less fortunate with the help of other organisations in the city.

St Vincent de Paul’s Phil Sky said with the help of the Broken Hill Lions Club and Far West Auto they have been able to supply 50 traditional Christmas cakes for their Christmas hampers.

“They have been doing this for many years,” Mr Sky said.

“I would like to thank Lions and Far West Auto for their continued support.

“We very much appreciate the cake donations.”

Mr Sky said more than 200 hampers will be put together on the weekend to give to people who might miss out on a Christmas lunch.

“The cakes are a big part of the hampers,” Mr Sky said. “I would like to thank the public for their generous donations for our hampers, as well as the service clubs and other organisations.

“These donations are appreciated at this time of need.”
