With the release of Higher School Certificate results, TAFE Western is encouraging students to consider all the study options available to them.
Kate Baxter, Institute Director TAFE Western, while it can be a stressful time - there are many options.
“It can be a rather stressful time for students particularly if they do not receive the results they were hoping for,” she said.
“We would like everyone to know that there are a number of options open to students for when things do not quite go to plan.
“We are able to offer advice to help people navigate a pathway to the career they want.”
People who would like some extra help and advice are welcome to contact one of TAFE Western’s Careers Counsellors.
“Counsellors are available through TAFE Western Student Hubs to help students look at all the options and help them choose the best way forward,” Ms Baxter said.
“We offer a range of courses at all our Colleges including; online courses; courses delivered by mobile learning units; and courses delivered by connected classroom in addition to those courses being offered face to face.:
Qualifications undertaken at TAFE Western can provide a pathway to employment and further education.”For example TAFE Western’s partnership with Charles Sturt University, means that TAFE qualifications can count towards university study reducing the amount of time needed to complete a degree and therefore reducing the costs involved,” Ms Baxter said.
Matthew Jones, local TAFE librarian and part-time teacher, said enrolments would be accepted early in the new year before the first term begins.
“With the new changes next year, now is a good time to enrol,” he said.
