If you spot something unusual cruising the streets it’s just former local Deena Janes out for a ride.

Deena, who grew up and lived in Broken Hill until she was 18, came back home for Christmas with the extended Shoobridge family.

And she brought something a little unusual with her.

The fitness fanatic packed up her two-wheeled ‘Elliptigo’ to take for a ride.

It may look like a bit like a regular bicycle but there is no seat or traditional pedals.

It can best be described as a cross-training machine with wheels.

“People often ask me what it’s like to ride ... it’s definitely different to a bike,” Deena said.

“It would be a bit harder work but you do get more fitness out of it.

“It’s a bit addictive and it’s taking off in the fitness world.”

Deena lives in Sydney and has ridden in Wollongong events and around Lake Taupo in New Zealand.
