Missing man may have passed through city

Signs have been posted on overpass with the social media hashtag “#FindDane”.
A Victorian man, Dane Kowalski, 27, has been missing for over three weeks.
His family and friends are desperate to find him and have placed the signs all over Australia.
Dane left his Diamond Creek home in Victoria on December 12 and told friends and family he was going to Darwin.
According to friend, Jemima Taylor, he was supposed to come home on December 19.
“We thought he might have been late getting back,” she said.
“But he wasn’t back by Christmas Eve and on Christmas Day, his mum reported him missing.”
Ms Taylor said they have found out that Dane never made it to the place he was supposed to go, when in Darwin.
“It’s not like him to contact his family, he has travelled all over the world,” she said.
“He has missed Christmas, his goddaughter’s first birthday, the birth of his best friend’s baby.
“He had New Year’s plans that he has missed.
“It’s been three weeks without contact.”
The enormous search effort for Mr Kowalski has involved police, missing posters, a social media campaign, a website and various fundraisers.
Friends and family believe he may have travelled to Adelaide or Port Augusta and maybe even passed through the city.
“We are looking at any logical route that he may have taken,” Ms Taylor said.
“I’ve just gotten back from Mildura, we’ve used planes and helicopters, his mates have been to Darwin, Queensland, Alice Springs - we are getting pretty desperate.”
There has been no trace of him, with his phone and bank accounts remaining untouched.
“We have had unconfirmed sightings,” Ms Taylor said.
“But if anyone knows anything please contact 000.
“We started the hashtag Find Dane to get it out to as many people as possible.
“Somewhere, someone knows something - people just don’t disappear into thin air.”
Dane is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 185cm tall, of athletic build with blue eyes and undercut brown hair. He was driving a white 2004 Holden Rodeo ute with the registration WN114.
