Anyone who wants to continue their education or gain new skills should think very seriously about attending TAFE Western’s open day today.

The Argent Street TAFE campus will be open from 9am until 6pm.

College team leader, Byron Hooker, said the day was for anyone enrolling in courses or for those interested in doing so.

“People are more than welcome to come and enrol in available courses, as well as distance education courses,” Mr Hooker said.

“The campus offers all trades, business, retail, marketing, management, general education, community services, disability services, health services and nursing and child services courses.”

Mr Hooker said the open days always attract a good number of people.

“All our teachers are in one location and students can talk to all the different teachers,” he said.

“All staff will be on deck from our admin, library staff to our counsellor and Aboriginal student support officer.”

Studying courses at TAFE can help people find a new job or gain new skills.

“Anyone interested in a new job through re-training or re-skilling should come down to our open day,” Mr Hooker said.

“Also if you are looking to get into the workforce, this is the best place to start for your qualifications.”

The campus may also be contacted on 8082 6888 for more information.
