After a fortnight’s break the action returns to Memorial Paceway for a big night of harness racing tonight.

The meeting will serve as a chance for stables to give their charges a welcome run after last week’s rain interruption, and prepare for the prestigious Maltese Cup next week.

Broken Hill Harness Racing Club chair Tracey Robinson predicted the fields would provide a great night of entertainment, in keeping with the rest of the season.

“There’s been good racing every week, they’re doing really good times and we’re getting good fields,” she said.

Ms Robertson added that the racing was also attracting a welcome crowd of punters and families enjoying the spectacle.

“The crowds have been really good, it’s really pleasing.

“And we’re seeing a lot of new faces too which is great, so we’re really happy.”
