Alleged drug dealer arrested

Saturday, 31st January, 2015

A woman has been charged with supplying drugs and other offences in the latest arrest in an on-going police operation against the amphetamine racket in the city.

Police said that the 24-year-old woman was in possession of prohibited drugs and drug paraphernalia when she was arrested at her home yesterday.

She was taken to police station and charged by detectives attached to the local anti-drug “Strike Force Nublu” with supplying a prohibited drug, neglecting a child in her care, knowingly exposing a child to drugs, participating in or contributing to criminal activity, and two counts of possessing a prohibited drug.

She was granted conditional bail to appear before the Local Court on Tuesday, February 17.

Strike Force Nublu was established in November last year to target amphetamines dealers in Broken Hill.

Yesterday’s arrest brings to seven the number of people brought before the courts by the Strike Force and detectives said that their investigations would continue.
