Drillers set up shop in city

An Adelaide exploration company has invested over $1.5 million in starting a venture in the city.

Diverse Resources Group specialise in water well drilling, exploration drilling, environmental drilling, video bore inspections and pump testing services.

They recently purchased a $1.2 million McCulloch DR950 drill rig and hired seven local people to run the machinery in the city.

Jamie Ralph is a recent employee of the company.

“The company saw there was an opportunity to come up here,” he said.

“Paul Jewitt the owner of the company, asked us to set up in Broken Hill.

“We currently have seven employees and are looking to hire another three.

“We have a number of drill rigs and are also looking at getting more rigs.”

The company are starting exploration drilling at Perilya in the coming weeks.

The company also works in Northern Territory, Victoria and South Australia.

The local team will also travel if they are needed there.

Mr Ralph said Perilya had been very supportive of the company.

“We would like to thank Perilya for supporting us,” he said.

“The drillers are very excited to start using the equipment.

“It is state of the art.”

Mr Ralph said the company would be able to provide opportunities for locals.
