Clubs encouraged to plan for future
Thursday, 5th February, 2015
The Broken Hill AFL board are asking for each club to send along some representatives for their “planning day” this Sunday.
The planning day will be on Sunday from 2pm at the Democratic Club.
Board chairman Peter Nash said the event would be an open forum.
“We are asking for any suggestions or concerns that football representatives may have,” he said.
“People from the football clubs, coaches, players and representatives are welcome to attend.”
Mr Nash said there will be opportunities to discuss scheduling.
“We will discuss the Lightning Cup dates, the Miners Cup and the possibility of a representative game for the women,” he said.
“There is interest for a women’s representative game but we need to look at sponsors, a venue and an available team.
“We will also discuss the transfer and registration system.”
Mr Nash said if there are any new board members they can come along.
“New board members can touch base with the board and the committee,” he said.
“It’s not just for senior football but juniors and Auskick as well.”
He said it would be worthwhile attending.
“Come along, listen in and contribute,” Mr Nash said.
“This is the first time we have done this.
“We held a season review at the end of the last season, but it was not well-received.
“We thought we would hold this in February just as everyone was starting to get back into football.”
