With days quickly disappearing and more than 3,000 tickets sold, the St Pat’s office staff have been working full time since Christmas to cater for all the phone calls and bookings for the club’s 50th anniversary meeting.
Club CEO Deanne Lyall said the demand has been staggering.
“All of our picnic sites have sold out,” she said. “Our main corporate area in the Gary Radford Pavilion is full, we have almost sold out the new marquee, The Stayers, and our John Toms Sports Bar only has a few places left.
“In fact, at last count we have sold something like 3,000 tickets.”
The Club is also selling tickets to their Celebration Show which is being held at the Civic Centre on Friday, March 6.
President Marg Corradini said the event had undergone some changes.
“It has been moved to Friday night,” she said, “and there will be entertainment as well as the Fashions.
“With Dana Farcich and Shelley Hayes organising it, it is sure to be an extravaganza.”
All the committee and volunteers have been busy organising everything.
“It’s going to be a huge couple of weeks,” Mrs Corradini said.
“We are looking forward to a very big year and event.
“I just hope the Broken Hill community embraces it, becomes part of it and enjoys it.”
Mrs Corradini said she was very happy with all the support.
“It is an event that can’t be missed. It gives ex-locals a chance to reminisce,” she said.
“There are also a number of reunions on that have been timed with the weekend of St Pat’s.
“It’s going to be a huge celebration.”
The St Pat’s Office in Crystal Street is open during the week. Bookings can be made by phoning 8087 7550.
