Broken Hill Rotary has distributed funds raised for its major fundraiser.

A spokesman for Rotary said the assistant district governor for Rotary attended their dinner held to celebrate the fundraiser, the Christmas Stocking.

“It was a nice social gathering and we had guests from other charities who sold tickets for the fundraiser,” he said.

He said the charities who sold tickets for Rotary received half of the money raised from the tickets they sell.

Charities that were involved included Lifeline, St John’s Cadets, Pensioners Association, RSL Ladies Auxiliary and Legacy Widows.

“We were able to give $7,500 to other charities,” he said.

“The money from the rest of the tickets raised will go to different Rotary fundraisers throughout the year.”

Pam Byrne was the winner of the Christmas Stocking, the winning ticket was drawn out by Sydney Carter-Pearce. Other prize winners were Bev Martyn, the King family, Michelle Malloch and L Grantham who won $100 vouchers.
