Tonight will see the inaugural champions of the Open Men’s Softball league crowned with the Bandits and the Rebels set to do battle.

Both teams sport strong line-ups with a tough game looking to be on the cards.

The Bandits will have star pitcher Brendan Shailes throwing down some heat with catcher Matt Day the one to hold them.

Danyon “Stretch” Olsen will be one to look out for and so will the homerun hitter and pocket rocket in centre-field, Evan Ferguson.

The Bandits’ youngest player in Preston Slater will continue to go about his business with the 13-year-old proving to be considerably reliable.

The Bandits sport a charismatic side full of all-rounder players who are capable of playing anywhere and the Rebels will have their work cut out for them.

The Rebels will be without key players Shaun Kemp and Damian Pascoe for the big clash but will still have a competitive side.

John Nicholls will step into the role of pitcher with his baseball background proving handy over the course of the season.

The Rebels have a trio of quality basemen with Rodney Hurst manning first, Logan Murphy guarding second and Michael Ellis watching over third.

The basemen trifecta is incredibly reliable, agile and possess solid reflex and will not let anything by if they get the chance.

Nicholls and Hurst act as safe batters who will consistently get on base and let big hitters bring them round and onto home plate.

Both sides have been strong over the course of the year and have developed significantly going into the final game of the season.

It’ll be a tight clash with the winner needing to play their absolute best.
