Call Lifeline to connect

A new centre aiming to put people in need in touch with the right services has officially opened in Broken Hill.
Lifeline Connect will be manned by trained volunteers and offers the chance to drop by for a cuppa and a chat or to use the WiFi.
The idea behind the centre, located at 78 Chloride Street across from Sturt Park, was to link people with services that might not know existed.
In a bid to do so, the centre has an extensive database that volunteers would strive to keep regularly updated.
Lifeline Broken Hill Board Chairperson Helen Ferguson said the opening was “very exciting”, given there had been an identified need for such a facility.
“It’s a terrible feeling for someone who needs some help and doesn’t know what’s available,” she said.
“Lifeline hopes that this little space will become a centre where people can have a chat and learn from each other.”
You can drop in to the centre or call and speak to a volunteer on (08) 8087 3409.
