The BH Civic Orchestra is promising to take its audience on a fantastic musical journey at its first concert of the year on Sunday.

A vast repertoire of music ranging from Mozart to Simon and Garfunkel will be performed at the concert, titled ‘The Second Best Exotic Marigold Orchestra’.

The concert will be held at the Broken Hill Regional Art Gallery at 3pm and entry is by donation.

The orchestra will be playing exceptionally well as this past weekend members had a series of workshops with Louise Keller, strings teacher at Methodist Ladies College School in Sydney.

Everyone, especially the string players, learnt a lot and found many new ways to improve their playing.

The workshop was supported by a grant from Regional Arts NSW through the Regional Arts fund.

“The BH Civic Orchestra is always looking for new members of any age or ability, so if you or someone you know play an instrument you are more than welcome to come down to the BIU band hall on Tuesday nights at 7.30 and be a part of a fantastic and enthusiastic community group,” a spokesman said.
