West’s Jordan Tonkin will make it to triple digits today when the Robin notches his 100th league game at the Jube.
Tonkin, 22, has played 84 games with West, having previously played 15 for North.
“I’m very proud considering there are only eighteen games a year,” he said.
As a younger lad, Tonkin played in a lot of state representative sides.
However, at around the age of 18, he decided to take a step back and focus on the recreational side of football.
“I kind of lost interest in the professionalism of it, I just wanted to play for fun.”
Tonkin has spent a lot of his time in the forward line with the paceman finding himself along the forward flank and subtly hidden in the forward pocket.
This season however, he has returned to his favourite position as a youngster, setting himself on the half back flank.
Tonkin provides plenty of rebound off the half back line and is starting to find form over recent games.
“I’m really enjoying my footy at the moment.”
This weekend will see Tonkin’s side take on second placed North which could prove to be a challenging milestone game for the flanker.
“I’m pretty happy about all the outs North have this weekend, hopefully we can get a win.”
