A motorcyclist with a pillion passenger who stopped for an early morning burger at McDonalds yesterday, ended up behind bars.
Police were patrolling the Westside Plaza about 4am when they recognised the rider in the drive-through of the fast-food restaurant.
The 38-year-old Broken Hill man was on bail after being charged with serious driving offences, and he was also disqualified from driving until the year 2020.
The woman passenger, who was a 27-year-old from Narromine, was also on bail for offences including intimidation and breaching an apprehended violence order.
The pair were taken back to the station, where they were allowed to chow down on their greasy snacks in the company of police.
The woman was released but the man was kept in the lock-up pending another bail hearing.
In other police news, a drunken 42-year-old man didn’t get the desired response when he strolled into the police station about 6am on Saturday morning.
The plastered pedestrian demanded police give him a ride home, but the only lift he got was over to the court house.
He was charged with breaching a bail condition that he not consume alcohol, and police escorted him to the court house for another bail hearing on Saturday.
He was again released on the condition that he keep off the booze.
