About 20 people have helped to turn the Civic Centre into a Winter Wonderland in just one day.

The hall had the internal makeover for the South Football Club’s Red and White ball tonight.

One of the organisers, Kacee Milnes, said they had a lot of help.

“We had about 20 people. Even people coming in to pay for tickets stopped to help,” she said.

“Anyone who could be here was here. They even helped to do the little things like put on the chair covers and sashes.

“All of that takes time to do.”

Kacee said the organising committee spent hours and hours setting up.

“We made all the centrepieces and snowflakes - it was a lot of effort but it was definitely worth it.

“We will close off the hall for the cocktail hour, so everyone will be able to see it all at once.

“That’s the best part for me - seeing everyone’s faces as they come in.”

Kacee said they worked from 9am to 4pm yesterday to get it all done.

“A big thank you to everyone who helped.”

The South Ball Winter Wonderland has sold 250 tickets so far and some are still available.

“We sold tickets today and we will still be selling tickets tomorrow (Saturday).

“We set extra tables just in case.”
