Music for the masses
Tuesday, 14th July, 2015
If you want to share your musical tastes and creativity with the city, then 2DryFM can help.
The community radio station is holding its annual general meeting this weekend, and places are available for new hosts.
2DryFM president Patrick Kreitner said he hoped to see some new faces at the meeting to help spread the joy of music throughout the city.
“In front of the microphone or behind the scenes, creativity and a positive attitude is all that’s needed to have fun and create some amazing radio,” he said.
“We’re looking for people of all ages with fresh ideas, experienced or new to radio, who would like to make a difference and create great content for Broken Hill’s airwaves.
“Everyone interested to join our dedicated team of volunteers is very welcome.”
Mr Kreitner said people’s contribution to the station were limited only by their imagination.
“The possibilities to contribute are endless; put your favourite music out there by doing your own weekly show or by helping to create our playlists, or create new show formats.
“People can engage the community, interview residents, engage in outside broadcasts, script-writing, recording and editing promos, and much more.”
The AGM will be held at the Centre for Community from 4pm on Saturday, and those interested can turn up on the day on call 0459 030 780.
There is a small fee of $25 ($15 for pensioners) per year to join the 2DryFm team.
