Flavour of the bush

From football players to soldiers to well-known local family the Radfords, School of the Air’s ‘Virtual Archibald’ portraits feature a wide range of subjects.
The artwork was completed as part of a special course in which students received virtual art lessons to produce an Archibald Prize-inspired portrait.
The final works of art were judged by BH artist, Howard Steer and Regional Art Gallery Education Officer Ian Howarth.
“It’s your typical Broken Hill talent. The flavour of the bush has come through in all the paintings,” Mr Steer said.
“See this one; there’s the sun, the Akubra, and the desert colours.”
Students were in the city this week for their end-of-year get-together and celebrations.
