Tickets are now on sale for the Broken Hill Trots Racing Raffle.

For $2 a ticket or $3 for five, people will go in the draw to win a unique bar fridge. What makes it so different is its front door.

Painted by local artist Howard Steer, the picture on the door, named “Dragonflies”, gives the beer-chilling appliance a dynamic look like no other.

“I love it! I think it looks absolutely beautiful,” said raffle organiser Kerry Adams yesterday.

“Howard has done fridges and painted them before so we thought instead of doing the money prize draw like last year, we thought we would do something rather different.

“We bought a fridge from Harvey Norman and Howard donated his time to paint it for us.

“I’ve already sold around $50 worth of tickets so far and I haven’t even got the ticket books yet.”

But now the books have been delivered you can buy tickets from a range of local businesses including Shutterbug, Red Robin Deli, Excelsior Deli and more.

Kerry said that all money raised goes back into the local trots as the season prepares to get underway early next month.

The draw for the raffle will be held at the St Pat’s meeting.
