Essential Energy has appointed a new regional manager with almost 30 years’ experience in the electricity industry to its Northern region, which covers the Far West.

Mark Summers was part of Essential Energy’s North Coast management team in Lismore where he was responsible for the network’s operations at six depots in Lismore, Casino, Kyogle, Bonalbo, Grafton and Maclean.

Mr Summers will manage the Northern regional from Tamworth. Its operations extend from the Goondiwindi Regional Council area in Queensland to the New England, North West, Orana, Central Tablelands and Far West areas of New South Wales.

“I am excited to have been appointed to the role and am looking forward to the opportunities and challenges that come with it,” he said.

Mr Summers has worked with Essential Energy and its predecessor organisations for 29 years and is a qualified powerline worker and electrical technician.

“Our business and industry is undergoing a significant period of change, however our focus remains on continuing to provide a safe, reliable and sustainable power supply for customers,” he said.
