Far West Auto brightened Christmas for the Brown family this week as they handed over the keys to a new Hyundai Accent.

Karen Brown won the car as part of FWA’s 10th Birthday Celebration promotion after her husband Paul entered her in the draw.

“It was a bit of a surprise because my husband put the entry in,” said Karen.

“I’ve never won anything before or had something like this happen, it’s a very big thing for me.”

Karen’s name was drawn from a barrel on Wednesday with Hyundai’s central region area sales manager, Noah Cunningham, overseeing the draw.

Local FWA finance manager Todd Collie said the big draw was the culmination of months of planning.

“Back in Early August we started to plan Mark’s 10th Birthday Celebration as Far west Auto,” he said.

“In the initial meeting stages we wanted to create an offer to the public that would demonstrate the size and effort of the sale we were constructing.

“Broken Hill has been very good to us over the years and we felt this was our opportunity to give something back to the community that has supported us so well.

“Santa has definitely come early to the Brown household and it couldn’t have gone to a more deserving family.”
