Team building, communications, navigation, camouflage and drills were just some of the activities that were conducted recently to encourage the city’s young to try something new.

The local Army Barracks held a night called “Camouflaged”, aiming to bring Army Cadets out of the dark and getting youth to try something different and rewarding. BH High School year 11 student Hannah Licul hosted the evening where participants learned about the different activities Army Cadets has to offer.

As part of the Max Potential youth leadership program, we used the “maximizers” principles “x out the negatives” and “march to a mission” combined with the Australian Army Cadet core values “teamwork, courage and initiative” to encourage kids to gain great new experiences.

These once in a lifetime cadet experiences can range from being in an Army tank to travelling to the other side of the world, Hannah said.
