Local emergency service personnel are once again preparing for the Emergency Services ball.
The ball, on Friday, October 22, will raise money for the local palliative care unit and the Silverlea Early Intervention Centre. The tickets are $55 and includes dinner and entertainment. “There will be a band and a DJ,” said one of the organisers, Sergeant Dave Gallagher.
“This is the fourth ball. Every ball has been a success,” he said. Sergeant Gallagher invited everyone along, saying “the more the better”.He said the moneyto run the event and the money from the tickets stays in Broken Hill.
A raffle for a jumping castle and an auction will be held on the night, with an original Howard Steer painting and a framed Adelaide Crow’s guernsey on sale. “We’re looking forward to a good night,” the sergeatn said. Sgt Gallagher said the previous balls had been a complete success and he hoped this year’s will be no different.
The evening will begin at 6pm and tickets are available at the SES depot in Crystal Street, the Central Fire Station, the Ambulance station, the Police station and the Local Area Command office in Sulphide Street.
