Young uphold tradition of Civic Ball debut

Twelve debutantes and their squires will take to the big stage tomorrow night for the annual Civic Ball.

Mayor Wincen Cuy said it was always a great night at the Civic Centre and an exciting and proud time for the families.

“It is always a wonderful social occasion, and for some debutantes it is a family tradition to be part of this night,” Mayor Cuy said.

“And we must not forget the months of practice these young adults put into making the night a success.

“The debs and their squires have been under the watchful eye of dance teacher Andrew Bevarne. I thank Andrew for working with the participants to prepare them for their special night.

“It will be a great night. I wish all the debutantes and their squires a successful evening.”
