One local youngster is preparing to have a new hairstyle this month - none at all!
Joshua Patterson (7) is gearing up for March 18 when he will take part in the Leukaemia Foundation World’s Greatest Shave.
Josh will be among thousands of people who will shave or colour their hair to raise money to find better treatments or cures for leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and related blood disorders.
His father Sean said Josh was not fazed about losing his hair.
“He’s happy to shave his hair,” he said. “He’s been growing it since he was six.
“He’s raised just under $1,300. His goal was $1,200, so he’s done very well.”
Josh is encouraging everyone to get involved.
“I’m doing it for the Leukaemia Foundation for sick kids,” he said.
“It’s a good idea to get your head shaved and raise money.
“It’s for a good cause.”
Josh is following in his older brother’s footsteps by raising money for the Leukaemia Foundation and can’t wait to get his head shaved at Burke Ward Public School
Those looking to give money to him can go to “Joshua’s shave for a cure fundraiser” Facebook page.
