You might say Broken Hill has been warm enough, but Theatre 44 has a new look, and they want to share it with you at a special “Theatre Warming” this weekend.

The Work for the Dole team has been working hard at the theatre for three months and have made some stunning changes.

If you come along to the concert at the theatre on Sunday at 2pm you will see just what has been done. They might even show you the dressing rooms!

Marilyn Harris and Diane Cotterill will both be singing, as well as the Expression Glee Ensemble and a selection of Marilyn’s pupils.

They will all perform modern popular songs, and Expression has been learning some dancing as well.

Theatre 44 now has a ‘drop-off point’ at the front door, where there is now an extra step so there will be no accidents stepping off the gutter. There is also now a wheelchair ramp inside the theatre.

Repertory will also be taking the opportunity to thank the workers for their excellent job so far.

“We hope they will continue for some time yet,” Marilyn said.

Tickets for the Theatre Warming will be available at the door for $8 adults, and $5 concession and school-children. All proceeds go to the theatre. The canteen will be open for afternoon tea.
