A notice has been sent to all Broken Hill Basketball members that a Special General Meeting will be held at the BHBA Stadium tonight at 6:30.

After reviewing the responses from the recent January survey, the BH Basketball Executive and Committee has called the meeting to discuss a few items which include a change to one of the junior bylaws.

The meeting will also be a good chance for the Association to receive feedback from members to improve the sport and how it’s run.

The Junior bylaw that is going to be discussed relates to a player having to “play in their correct age-appropriate grade first, before participating in any other grade”.

Based on the responses to the survey, the proposed change would be:

“If a team is moving grades (from 10s to 12s, for example) and there is a player that still qualifies for the lower age grade, they are permitted to play with their team in the upper age group and won’t be made to play down in their age grade as long as they have played the complete previous season with that team and it’s not to the detriment of the grade.”

The introduction of a 10-week game loyalty card and extending the EFTPOS options to include game tickets will also be on the agenda.

All members are encouraged to attend the meeting and are welcome to give feedback and suggestions for the long-term
