The Broken Hill Print Collective’s inaugural print show opens up at the Town Hall Facade tonight.

The exhibition, presented by West Darling Arts, showcases a variety of printmaking techniques from the traditional; such as lithography, etching, drypoint and collagraph to newer additions such as digital art and street art and plaster relief prints.

The title of the exhibition refers to the survey type approach of keeping the definition of print open to include all repeat and transfer processes.

The exhibition will also include a small incubator display for local designers. As print is often combined with object making as well as multiples, the “collective” will provide a space for artists and designers to display hand-made and small-run products, such as ceramics and printed textiles and jewellery.

The Broken Hill Print Collective is looking to establish an access print studio workshop and gallery, and welcomes any stray etching presses.
