The Petersen family are missing their beloved cat, Phoebe, who hasn’t been home in over 10 days.
It’s not only the siblings who are missing their furry friend but their other cat, Shadow, is also distraught.
Mum Amanda said the cats are both 18 months old and are outside during the day.
“They always come in at night when they are called for dinner,” she said.
“Then we keep them in all night.
“They don’t usually wander far from home.”
Amanda said when she called for the cats for dinner on Tuesday, May 3, Shadow came running but Phoebe didn’t.
“It’s completely out of character for her to be gone this long,” she said.
“Shadow has been really upset, he cries all the time, he doesn’t wander far and he doesn’t want to explore anywhere.”
Amanda said the family did a big letter box drop with flyers.
“We dropped ‘Missing’ flyers from Wyman Lane to Morgan Street,” she said.
“We’ve had lots of people asking if we have found her, but we haven’t really had any leads.”
Phoebe is mostly white with tabby colouring on her back and her tail. She has white ears and a mostly white face.
“I’m not sure if someone has taken her into feed her and just kept her,” Amanda said.
“We’ve put it on all the Facebook pages and she is microchipped.
“Some friends have thought they have seen her, but we haven’t had any luck.
“All the kids are missing her, even my 15-year-old.
“I think he sees her as his cat.”
Amanda said they were desperate to find their family companion.
“We will take any leads and we will come and check out any cat.”
