West in with a shot

While the Robins have the shown the competition they are not to be taken lightly anymore, they have but one win to their name in season 2016 and they’ll look to change that when they take on the Bulldogs on this afternoon.

North are coming off a big win over Central last weekend, romping to a 67-point victory.

Bulldog champ Codie Howard easily the best on ground with six goals while Ethan Slater, Jamie McConnell and Luke Jones all chipped in with three.

North will be looking to players like Mason Hunt and Ayden Pettit to step up and help out regular contributors like Jayden Kelly and Quinton Beavan.

Anthony Henderson is a player with the ability to take the game away from the opposition very quickly. West will need to be on their game if they are to contain the dangerous forward.

West skipper Jordan Tonkin, veteran Alan Mackiewicz and the in-form Liam King will all need to play well if the Robins are to notch up their second win for the year.

Brett Martin booted four last week but missed out on the best players. Martin has been playing more forward of late but his class might be needed in the midfield to combat North’s wealth of talent in the middle.

Young gun Jack Larkins makes his A-grade debut this weekend. Larkins has been playing u/18s this year since moving over from WA and the word is he’s a very skillful outside player.

Last time these two teams met, the Bulldogs ran out winners in a hard fought contest by 26 points despite being down by one at 3QT. Eddie Morgan was the best for North while Ty Andrews was West’s best.

Going for West in a minor upset by 10 points.
