Rare milestone reached

June and Kevin Sinclair will celebrate a rare Diamond wedding anniversary this weekend.
The couple first met in 1952 while working for Harold Griff, but said there was no instant chemistry.
However Griffs had a great social and close to 40 employees, and romance gradually bloomed as they spent time in each other’s company at work picnics, barbecues and dances.
They were married at the Westley Church in 1956 with Doodie Pascoe (bridesmaid), June Terrell (matron of honour), John Williams (best man) and Rex Greeney (groomsman) sharing in the ceremony.
They honeymooned in Sydney and flew there on an early model Vickers Viscount prop-jet owned by Butler’s Airways.
The couple have two sons, Ray (Broken Hill) and Bryan (Sydney) and a daughter Tracy (Perth).
Tracy and Bryan are returning for the anniversary celebrations which will be held at the Sturt Club on Saturday with around 70 friends and family members attending.
