West made a clean sweep of the junior grades with wins in the Under 13s and 15s on Saturday at the Jubilee Oval.

Having already claimed the Under 18s flag, the young Robins made it three from three in the juniors on the weekend.

The Under 13s were up first on a sunny Saturday morning and South held a slim two-point lead after the first quarter. West gained the advantage in the second term as both sides wasted their chances in front of goal.

A score-less third term by the Roos would prove costly with the Robins able to extend their lead to 15 points at the final change.

South had chances in the last, kicking 2.4, but West would hold on with two goals of their own and eventually ran out winners by 11 points to claim the premiership.

Malarkai Taylor booted two goals while Joel Van Kemenade was fantastic for West. Van Kemenade was everywhere and used his thumping kick to thrust the Robins into attack time and time again.

Captain Jackson Savage, Nick Trengove and Oliver Campbell were the other standouts for West while Bryce Langdon and Marcus Purcell were South’s goal scorers and best players.

Following the Under 13s, it was time for the Under 15 grand final and while North were the minor premiers, it was West who dominated the contest.

The Robins, who had taken out the last two Under 15 premierships, led by 22 points at the first break and extended that to 27 at halftime.

It was more of the same in the second half although the Bulldogs did have their chances, kicking seven behinds to West’s 4.2 as the Robins ran away to an easy 46-point win.

Dylan Foggo capped off a great year in front of goals with another bag of four while Nick Schofield was named best on ground as he added the under 15s flag to the one he won in the under 18s.

Cooper Lawrence, Rogan Turner and Dan Kennedy fought hard for the Dogs while Kody Ellis kicked their only goal.
