So many kittens have been left at the RSPCA over the past 12 months that it has been a struggle finding owners for them.

“We’ve had litters of five, six, seven and 10 kittens over the course of a fortnight period,” RSPCA animal attendant Mick Skewes told the BDT.

“Even in September we did a run to Dubbo so they could try and find homes out there.”

It could very well be labelled as the feline equivalent of a five-star-hotel.

Decked out with reverse-cycle air conditioning and a personal balcony, the city’s cats now have their own holiday resort at the RSPCA to enjoy while their owners spend time away from home.

The unit, which now houses four cats, was recently moved into the rear of the animal shelter.
