Broken Hill cricketers taking part in the 2012 Sister City Sporting Exchange at Bankstown in outer Sydney received an unexpected bonus yesterday when they met with Australian Test superstars Michael Clarke, Ricky Ponting and Brad Haddin.

The national team members were taking part in a Sheffield Shield clash between NSW and Tasmania at Bankstown Oval and the BH juniors were part of a guard of honour for the teams and also had a chance to snare an autograph with their idols.

The rare experience capped off a more productive day for the BH cricketers who were able to secure their first win of the Sister City Exchange as well, with the Year 7/8 side defeating Bankstown.

"Grabbing our first win in the cricket competition and then getting a close-up look at some of Australia's best players capped off a great day," Cricket Coordinator Denis Watts reported.
