Magpies mangle North

Central had no problem dispatching an undermanned North on the weekend to the tune of 158 runs.
Jon Carrett led the Central batting innings with his 75 to set a very tough target for North.
But things didn’t start well for Central with Cam Wells dismissed by Tom Davey for three in the second over.
Betts makes mark

Having debuted last summer, Broken Hill pace bowler Samantha Betts is an important part of the next generation of South Australian Scorpions cricketers in the Women’s National Cricket League.
Still just 17, Betts is seen as a vital member of the bowling attack, providing support for the teams strike bowler Megan Schutt, who despite being just 20 herself is in the national squad.
Already having represented her state at youth level for a number of years, Betts was initially spotted by former Australian women’s captain and accomplished all rounder, Shelley Nitschke.
Roos save best to very last

It was party time for the South Cricket Club on Saturday night after they finally registered their first win of the season in a thrilling one-wicket victory over North at the Alma Oval.
In a low scoring game, North batted first and could only compile 104 runs from 37 overs. South got the runs in the 23rd over but in doing so lost nine wickets.
Rampant Robins roll Magpies

This much-anticipated game of the round at the Alma Oval between West and Central turned into a fizzer with West easily disposing of the Magpies by seven wickets.
The remain undefeated and sit comfortably on top of the ladder.
All eyes were on Central to see if they could bring their A-game to the party and finally challenge the Robins but it wasn't to be, so it's back to the drawing board for the Magpies to concoct another plan to stop the West juggernaut from rolling on.
Burkies win a thriller

Burke Ward have been crowned the junior hardball champions for the season, after defeating Sacred Heart/Central in the weekend's Grand Final.
Burke Ward won the toss on what was a steamy morning and chose to field, which saw Dwyer and Robertson stride out to open the batting for Sacred Heart/Central.
