Woman ‘robbed’ and assaulted

A woman was allegedly assaulted and robbed yesterday morning as she was going to the bank to deposit the takings from a business.

The incident reportedly happened about 11.15am when the 29-year-old woman parked her car in Blende Street between Oxide and Delamore streets.

A man described as thin and of Aboriginal appearance came up and opened the passenger side door and reached for her handbag, police said.  

Boys to face sentencing

Two boys charged in relation to the alleged murder of a man in Buronga will be sentenced next year.

Yesterday local magistrate Geoff Dunlevy committed the juveniles for sentence during next sittings of the District Court in Broken Hill in March.

One the boys, who was 17 at the time of the incident last year, had pleaded guilty to robbery armed with an offensive weapon, robbery in company and larceny.
