A spectacular crash marred the NSW Sidecar Titles final at the Broken Hill Speedway on Saturday night, putting a dampener on an otherwise top night of racing before a massive crowd.
Broken Hill’s Rick Howse and Adam Commons had 3500 speedway fans on their feet when they shot out in front at the first turn of the final, building hopes that the state title would be returning to the Silver City in a couple more laps.
Roxby Down’s Trent Headland and Daz Whetstone were coming second while firm favourites Darrin Treloar and Blake Cox were third, and Shane Hudson and Eli Wright were fourth.
Who will be crowned King of the Hill?

An all star line up will assemble in Broken Hill for this weekend’s ‘King of the Hill’ speedway race meeting.
The racers will take part in sidecar and Moto-X competitions in the event on Saturday night.
Broken Hill based sidecar racer, Daniel Stephens, is excited about the quality of the visiting riders.
Sprinters to take centre stage

Motorsport fans will be treated to some high-velocity action tomorrow night with V8 sprint cars set to tear up the speedway track.
Sprint car racing combines powerful motors with a light chassis to provide thrilling, high-speed events.
The sport is so intense that many American drivers use it as preparation for their IndyCar and NASCAR careers.
McClure makes it a double

Veteran speedway racer Jeremy McClure recently won his fifth South Australian Modified Sedan Title after dominating at the Riverland Raceway in Renmark.
The win marks back-to-back victories for McClure, who was the defending champion going into the event.
The SA Title has a 34-year history dating back to 1978, with Jeremy winning his first title in 1985 before following it up with titles in 1996, 2002, and 2011.
Fast track will make for a great night

Speedway revs up for its second meeting of the year tonight with a solid program of racing.
Racers will compete in sidecars, stock cars and junior stocks, while the Moto-X Mayhem bikes will also take to the track.
BH Speedway Club Secretary Dion Coulls said racing would be even better than last month’s meeting, with recent light rain helping to ensure the track is in pristine condition.
