Rampant Robins roll Magpies

This much-anticipated game of the round at the Alma Oval between West and Central turned into a fizzer with West easily disposing of the Magpies by seven wickets.
The remain undefeated and sit comfortably on top of the ladder.
All eyes were on Central to see if they could bring their A-game to the party and finally challenge the Robins but it wasn't to be, so it's back to the drawing board for the Magpies to concoct another plan to stop the West juggernaut from rolling on.
Long road to State glory

For the city's aspiring junior footballers, the road to State team selection is longer than most.
The four-week selection process for the New South Wales under 16 and under 18 squads gets underway this weekend, with locals facing thousands of kilometres in travel just to take part.
Players will travel to Narrandera for the first round of the Zone Championships, then have a weekend off before making back to back weekend trips to Canberra for subsequent rounds.
Winners all round

Saturday night's harness race meeting saw the winners of each of the five races go to five different trainers.
The West Football Club's Cock Robin Syndicate got a win with their first ever starter, Guard Duty, who could string together a couple more wins in this grade.
Racing now has a week off and will be returning on Saturday, February 9 with all the same excitement and facilities.

Countless hours spent playing on Broken Hill pool tables have paid off for Dax Wasley, who will represent Australia at the World Eightball Pool Championships in England later this year.
Wasley is part of a 10-man team competing against 17 other countries in the Open teams category of the championships which will be held in the northwest city of Blackpool from June 23.
And the 29-year-old, a former SA Under 21 champion who moved to Kalgoorlie in 2008, gives the Aussie team an outside chance of winning the title for the first time in 17 years.
